~ The Annual Rounders Massacre 2007 ~

"We HAMMERED 'em" must be the phrase of the evening on every members lips - Every CLWYD VALE member that is!

What a "good fun evening was had by all, Sadly our team was plaugued by misfortune during the evening, otherwise we would have won (of course) ...... If only more of our team hadn't got lost on the way to the Salusbury........ If only our ringers had turned up on time...... if only our two "star" performers hadn't succumbed to injury so early in the night ........if only thier team hadn't been so BLOODY GOOD ........ if only thier team captain hadn't been keeping the score (and was umpire too!) - then we'd have won for SURE!
I think we'll have to go back to "tug-o-war" days and put Big Gwyn & Big Dave in as the anchor men - then we'll see who's got the strongest team!

Update on Arthur - He was neither admitted nor committed to hospital, He's walking with a major limp, but he's in work the next day! - the school ladder will never be the same again though - (I'm just sorry I was one of the stretcher bearers & couldn't get a photo of this bit - it had to be seen to be believed!!)
Update on Iain - Still alive & kicking, a few shots of medicine over the bar after the event saw a remarkable recovery.
Update on the school field - nicely ploughed, thank you to the emergency "ambulance car"

Thanks to everyone who turned up from BOTH teams and helped make it a fun night for everyone ( apart from poor ol' Arthur of course!)

Catching a rounders ball? - EASY, just like driving my car, I can do it with my eyes closed!
Ball? wot ball? where?
90 left, watch for the slippy stuff!
Youre supposed to start running AFTER you hit the ball, not before!
Some of the team really put thier all into the match
Whereas others put in a bit of a lame effort! If I just stand here and smile nicely, will you give me a run anyway?
The opposition were FLYING!
It's only a game - and we all enjoyed the evening, both on the field and in the Salusbury afterwards.
As verified by both teams with big smiles at the end of the match
