The Radio Control Car evening - 15/11/07

Well, a SURPRISINGLY good turnout from Rhyl Members on this one off event held at North Wales Car Clubs' home venue of the Llandudno Junction Community Centre.
Rhyl team members were: Rod, Sandra, Baz, Big Dave, IainB, Arthur, Chris.
NWCC team members were: DVT, Dave(2) & Sophie.
The Rhyl team were supported by several members who came down to watch the action, including, Ros, Ped, Claire, IanV, Kev Pappa,

An assortment of vehicles appeared during the evening, including SEVERAL Impreza's, Mercedes, a Peugeot 205, and Rally recovery was on hand in the form of a Toyota Hi-Ace!

Without doubt, the best times of the evening were put up by Chris (I've done this before) Jones, who showed the rest of us the way.
DVT on the other hand, whilst having, without doubt, the fastest car on the floor (Subaru), proved to everyone that speed isn't everything by demolishing just about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in the vehicles' way by continuously going the WRONG way! - "Driver error" methinks there Dave, but his excuse was gremlins in the radio!

A fairly respectable effort was also put in by Ros who, on the post event recce, managed to get all the way around the course - eventually!
Test 4 degenerated into a bit of a "who can push who the furthest off the track" so times have been neutralised on this one!

Worst excuses of the night:
Chris - I would have been quicker, but I'm out of practice..........
DVT - There's something wrong with my radio............
Sophie - I've never done this before ..............
Sandra - I could have won, but someone oversprayed my chances...........
Big Dave - 205's aren't that quick, you know!...............
Arthur - Mal de soldering iron............

A good evenings entertainment, enjoyed by all and just for a bit of fun - one to put in the calendar for next year sometime?
