Yup,
this one's an event with a difference alright!
Get your wheels out, chains oiled, bells shined & tyres inflated
......... and come for a FUN day out
whats best of all is that:
ENTRY is FREE
..... But a minimal donation to BHF of £2.50, per competitor, will be
requested .before you set off around
the lake......
...........
......100% of the donations will be going to the BRITISH HEART
FOUNDATION.........![]() |
BHF
official sponsorship forms are now available for those wishing to
get sponsored to do the ride |
Everyone is welcome
to do the ride - providing you donate at least £2.50 - bring
the family for a ride out!
The event will start at
o/s map ref: SH.96500.24150 (Car Park at the NORTH end of Lake Vyrnwy)
The only restrictions will be:
1. All entrants should be capable
of steering, navigating AND pedalling, all at the same time
(that's most of the fellas out of the running then?!)
2. You MUST have a WORKING BELL (or other means of audible warning - shouting doesn't count!)
3. Your transport should have only TWO wheels (exceptionally, one, three or even four wheeled cycles may be allowed to take part)
4 .Your transport MUST be CHAIN driven
and the powerplant must be PURE MUSCLE
( ie, no cheating with little electric or even petrol engines hidden in the
saddlebag but "multipersonpowered" IS acceptable)
5. Servicing WILL be allowed but
only by fellow competitors (ie, no outside assistance!)
(Although a recovery vehicle (to the start/finish) will be available free
of charge for any competitor who cannot continue for any reason)
6. Scruteneering will take place at the start to ensure all transport is in roadworthy condition (brakes, tyres, reflectors, etc)
7. Protective Head Gear is STRONGLY recommended (although not compulsory) for ALL cyclists.
8. Genuine
exceptions will be made to ALL the above restrictions for any registered disabled
competitors with powered (ELECTRIC ONLY, no fossil fuels) vehicles who wish
to join us for the day.
Please note that, by entering this NON COMPETITIVE cycle ride you accept that
you are cycling entirely at your own risk, on the PUBLIC HIGHWAY - This scenic
route is very popular and is traversed by many cyclists, walkers and MOTOR
VEHICLES on a daily basis.

This is a fun bike ride around LAKE VYRNWY
The perimeter road around Llyn Efyrnwy, for the unknowing, is a virtually
FLAT, beautifully scenic and VERY EASY 11 mile (approx) ride on 100% tarmaced
public roadway on which we would like to invite our friends from all the other
North Wales Motor Clubs to join us for an enjoyable day out with no pressure
of serious competition. I'd suggest this jaunt is suitable for just about
anyone - there is no rush to complete the circuit - take a break (or even
2) on the way around if you wish ........ Just get out there and ENJOY THE
DAY!
Bring your own butties for the picnic afterwards!
It's ALL FOR A BIT OF FUN on a (hopefully sunny) Spring
Sunday afternoon to allow us to make a charitable donation to the BRITISH
HEART FOUNDATION, who's untiring work over the years has helped many people
- like Web Editor Iain Baxter and former Club Chairman John Leckie, to survive
heart disease.
Neither "competition" nor Awards will be of the "usual"
format, and it'll be worth your while entering! ....... more details soon
- keep visiting this page .........................
