The ‘Awards Do’
A VERY brief report

The annual awards do was held at Oriel House again this year. For those of you not able to attend you missed a cracking night out, for those who did attend you will know all the stuff that we can’t publish!!

Oriel House put on a really fantastic meal which the vast majority seemed to enjoy. Following the meal Lillian Romain kindly donated the “Chain of Office” to the club – which Baz accepted on behalf of the club. The evening entertainment was courtesy of our new Vice President– Frank Williams who regaled everyone with his tales and stories of events gone by. This was followed by the main event – the Awards being Awarded! – which they were.

The evening finished with the disco and several extreme performances from Arthur and Iain (the latter forgetting he was newly released from Broad Green). Those of us who couldn’t keep up with the pace retired around 1am – those who could (and they know who they are) were still to be found in the bar drinking after 3.30am. Quite a few people stayed overnight and were to be found nursing hangovers and large cooked breakfasts the following morning in the hotel restaurant.

Thanks to all those who worked hard at making sure the event was a good one – Baz, Ros, Chris, Keith and Linda to name the main crew.

If you are thinking of attending next year – do – it’s a really good night out.
